Gigi Charters

Richmond National Battlefield

I was born in Dakar, Senegal and grew up in Nairobi, Kenya where my passion for all things wildlife flourished. After nine years in Africa, we moved to the Washington DC area where we have settled to this day! After receiving my B.S. in Biology (ecology/evolution) from Longwood University in 2017, I worked as a Park Naturalist Aide for a nature center in Arlington, VA. There I joined the Master Naturalist program and really loved my experience as a volunteer. After a wonderful couple of years in Northern VA, I decided to embark on a new adventure and moved to Richmond, VA, which somehow led me to this incredibly fortuitous opportunity. In my free time I love to explore new green spaces with my side-kick (my beagle), and work on my skills in wildlife photojournalism. Can’t wait to get started!
