Harriet Siegrist

Zion National Park

Harriet was born and raised in southwest Iowa, and with the Loess Hills being in her backyard, she
developed a love for nature from a young age. However, it wasn't until high school where she found her
passions for volunteerism, conservation and travel.
In pursuit of opportunities to travel and to continue her swimming career, Harriet attended Loras
College, where she studied Public Relations, Spanish and International Studies, and studied abroad in
Santiago de Compostela, Spain. Wanting to be an advocate for living more sustainable lifestyles, she
served as a ConservationCorps Field Crew Worker in Minnesota, and served as an Americorps
sustainability worker on her college campus.
Upon graduation, she accepted a job at Convivium Urban Farmstead, a nonprofit whose mission is to
combat food insecurity in eastern Iowa. Wanting to strengthen her environmental background even
more before she continues on the path of becoming a Peace Corps Volunteer, Harriet wanted to find
work within the NPS and is thrilled to join Zion National Park as their newest CVA.
