James Goodman

Whiskeytown National Recreation Area

February 2022

James is originally from Long Island, NY. He earned his BA in history from Gettysburg College in 2020
and his MA in Applied History from Shippensburg University in 2021. James has always been
passionate about history. He has a particular interest in Civil War history and the Great War period. He
has worked seasonally at a variety of historical parks on the East Coast including Harpers Ferry
National Historical Park (2019) and Hopewell Furnace National Historic Site (2021). He is excited to
gain a new perspective on the park service by working at a site that places a greater emphasis on
natural and recreational resources on the opposite coast. James is looking forward to rebuilding and
expanding volunteer opportunities for a park well loved by its community.
