Mal Scott

Hot Springs National Park

Malinda Scott, who simply goes by "Mal," was born in Memphis, TN. She has, however, lived in Hot Springs, AR since childhood. Since 2011, Mal's calling has been towards graphic design, education, and combinations of the two. After receiving a Certification of Proficiency in Advertising and Graphic Design, she began her work at National Park Technical College interning two graphic design instructors, and would continue working with the National Park College staff though various divisions as her freelance graphic design experience grew. Starting in 2016, Mal began teaching seasonal graphic design courses through National Park College's Continuing Education Center, a program that is open to both students of the college and the community. By May of 2018, Mal then graduated with an Associates of Science in Education. The staff at NPC's Career Center referred her to the park rangers of Hot Springs National Park, and this is how she came across the great opportunity interning as a CVA. While her internship has just begun, she is learning lots about her community, and plans to apply her knowledge and skills to better connect her community to the beautiful Hot Springs National Park. She plans to pursue her Bachelor of Arts, Emphasis in Graphic Design, at HSU, and hopes to never stop learning.
