Max Farley

Freedom Riders National Monument

Max Farley calls Murfreesboro, Tennessee home. Fascinated with American history since an early age, he studied history at Rhodes College and at Middle Tennessee State University, graduating with a BA in 2018 and an MA in 2020. During his studies, Max discovered an expansive interest in public history – history beyond the walls of traditional academic study. This interest, along with correlating interests in museums, historic preservation, and digital history, led him to a National Park Service internship in 2019 with the National Historic Landmarks Program. Max applied to be a Community Volunteer Ambassador at Freedom Riders National Monument because he’s passionate about fostering public engagement with history and excited to help grow community support for a new and important National Park Service site.
