Rachel Henson

Catoctin Mountain Park

Rachel grew up outside of Pittsburgh, PA. She began to fall in love with the natural world around her and
wanted to pursue a career to inspire others about the environment. Rachel attended and graduated from
Slippery Rock University with a Bachelor's of Science in Parks and Resoruce Management in December
of 2019. In January 2020, she began her journey as a Pathways Park Guide at De Soto National
Memorial in Bradenton, FL. Rachel went on to graduate with her Masters in Environmental Education
from Slippery Rock University in December 2021. In January 2022, she departed her position at De Soto
National Memorial to move to Maryland. Through the Community Volunteer Ambassador Internship at
Catoctin Mountain Park, Rachel wants to continue to inspire people about the environment, engage the
surrounding community, and continue her career with the National Park Service.
