Ruby is a graduate from the University of North Florida with a Bachelor’s in Health Science and a concentration in Environmental Health. She has grown up in North Florida where her passion for environmental health and human health grew at a young age, organizing her first community cleanup with a local non-profit CleanYour904 before starting high school. She is continuing her connection with the environment through her studies as well as her hobbies of hiking, gardening, surfing, fishing, and paddling.
Her interest in Environmental Science and Environmental Health has led her to be involved in interdisciplinary research studies in Environmental Justice, Social Systems and the Environment (Critical Ecology), Sustainability, Health Science, with focuses on data analytics, outreach and education programming. Ruby is looking forward to their future in outdoor education and research, specifically in the connection of human & environmental health. She believes the environment is our biggest classroom, and our community and surroundings are our best teachers. As a CVA in Timucuan Ecological & Historic Preserve she is excited to continue to inspire & empower visitors, communities, and volunteers to keep growing into environmental stewards in any and all ways possible!
