Longfellow House - Washington's Headquarters National Historic Site

Samantha (Sam) DiMatteo and is a Community Volunteer Ambassador for the Longfellow House - Washington's Headquarters National Historic Site. Born and raised in Massachusetts, she graduated last year (2020) from Framingham State University with a Bachelor's degree in History. While in school, Sam found a passion for social/cultural history and strove to use her academic knowledge in a professional setting. Subsequently, she accepted an internship at the Olmsted Center for Landscape Preservation and was introduced to the world of historic preservation and the National Parks Service! Sam was first introduced to the Longfellow Site during this internship and fell so deeply in love with the site, the CVA position seemed like the perfect opportunity to expand her skill set while working with a park and history she cherishes.
