Anna Martin
George Washington Memorial Parkway
February 2023
Anna Martin is originally from Kent, Ohio, where she was active in 4-H and her school community growing up. She was incredibly lucky to have the Cuyahoga Valley National Park right in her backyard! After completing her Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Policy and Decision-Making at The Ohio State University in 2021, Anna moved to Washington, D.C. where she worked on the House Natural Resources Committee as Staff Assistant and most recently, Policy Aide for the Subcommittee on Oversight & Investigations. Anna's passion for environmental policy is rooted at the intersection of social and environmental justice. In the past, Anna has researched barriers for increasing equitable access to Franklin County Metroparks and completed her senior capstone researching existing federal legislation increasing access to federal lands and the national park system. Anna is thrilled to be working on the ground at the George Washington Memorial Parkway and is looking forward to learning from park volunteers and NPS staff. She is hoping to strengthen connections between people and place through volunteer and community engagement and is excited to get to know the natural spaces outside of D.C.
