Coming from the great state of Oklahoma, Jake holds a Bachelor’s Degree in History from Oklahoma State University. After college, he went to work for the National Park Service on a two year contract at Fort Smith National Historic Site, and then went underground, literally, for a six month season at Mammoth Cave National Park, guiding hundreds of visitors through the world’s longest cave system.

Currently serving as a CVA back at Fort Smith, Jake hopes to gain an in-depth insight into what it takes to run a volunteer program, all while playing an active part in the park’s volunteer living history program. Volunteers at Fort Smith have the opportunity to play soldier, settler, deputy marshal, and a host of other characters assisting with the park’s programming.
