Joseph Driesenga was born and raised in West Michigan, and is finishing a MA in Public History at Middle Tennessee State University. He has interned or worked at sites including the Smithsonian Institute's National Museum of American History, the Tennessee State Museum, Andrew Jackson's Hermitage, and with Eastern National at Stones River National Battlefield's bookstore. He will be serving at Springfield Armory National Historic Site and Coltsville National Historical Park in Springfield, Massachusetts and Hartford Connecticut. He hopes to gain experience in the administration and day-to-day operations of historic sites and to gain experience presenting complex and controversial topics to the public in a professional and balanced manor. He hopes start a career in the Park Service or in museums following completion of his CVA term
