Karey Olson
Lincoln Home National Historic Site
September 2023
Karey Olson was born and raised in Pueblo, Colorado. From a very young age, Karey could be found most summers exploring various national park sites around the country with her family. One site inspired a young Karey to set her sights on the National Park Service, Lincoln Home National Historic Site! From the age of 9, Karey told everyone that she would work at Abraham Lincoln’s house one day. From that moment on, she started to navigate HOW to get to the park service. She graduated in 2020 with a Bachelor of Science in Human Dimensions of Natural Resources from Colorado State University in Fort Collins, CO. She has spent the last couple of years working as the Volunteer and Museum Engagement Specialist at Rosemount Museum in Pueblo, CO. As a CVA, Karey has achieved her dream of having the opportunity to serve at the Lincoln Home National Historic Site! She hopes to expand her experience in working with a diverse group of volunteers as well as get to see how the National Park Service operates. When she isn’t at work, you will most definitely find Karey exploring a new museum or finding natural spaces to explore!
