With her hometown in Beaumont, TX, Kennie is no stranger to the Big Thicket Natl. Preserve. She studied and received her bachelors of science in Forestry with a concentration in Wildlife Management from Stephen F. Austin State University in Nacogdoches, Texas. She has served in 2 previous SCA positions at Kenai National Wildlife Refuge in Soldotna, AK and at the Big Thicket National Preserve, where she assisted in the Education/Interpretive staff. She most recently worked as a Consulting Utility Forester in Florida but has returned to the Big Thicket to build upon the VIP program at the park and work with the park staff as they gear up for their 50th anniversary. She is very excited to be rejoining this park's team as a CVA and returning to one of the most biodiverse parks and share that with the community.
