Tatiana Ananich

War in the Pacific National Historical Park

Winter 2024

Tatiana is an indigenous Chamorro born and raised on the island of Guam located in the Marianas. She graduated from University of Guam with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Communication Studies and Public relations. She enjoys attending volunteer events such as community cleanups and tree plantings, as well as hiking, swimming and gardening in her spare time.

Her interest in environmentalism began during the summer of 2021 when she had the opportunity to work with Guåhan Sustainable Culture, a non-profit organization striving toward greater food security in Guam. Since then she has worked with several agencies such as Nihi Indigenous Media, U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, and Guam Department of Agriculture on critical conservation projects. Tatiana plans to continue gearing her professional development toward a career that will purposefully serve the land, ocean and people of the Mariana Islands.

Now acting as the Community Volunteer Ambassador at the War in the Pacific National Historical Park, she looks forward to expanding the park’s volunteer program while implementing lesson plans and activities that emphasize the effects of climate change on the unique island ecosystems in the Pacific.
