Located in Anchorage's historic Federal Building, the center hosts exhibits representing natural, historical, and cultural features throughout the state. The CVA will works closely with park management, program support staff, and partners to recruit volunteers for on and off-site activities. This includes creating new partnerships and identifying new recruitment opportunities.  As a spokesperson for the park site, the CVA will coordinate special events,  present our park offerings to various organizations (military bases, schools, recreational groups), and participate in well-established youth outreach efforts.


The APLIC CVA needs to be a team player who loves the outdoors, youth, and adventure. The CVA needs to be able to work with and in diverse communities and have the 
flexibility to adapt to the unexpected city life in Alaska (i.e a moose appearing in the middle of downtown). In addition to having a sense of humor, the CVA should be able to maintain a balance between fulfilling work responsibilities and self-care
