Katie Johnston

Capitol Reef National Park

Fall 2024

Katie Johnston is a 2nd year CVA at Capitol Reef National Park and she couldn't be more thrilled. Throughout her first term Katie has loved working with the park's orchard team to implement a volunteer program to help visitors more meaningfully interact with the park's 19 historic orchards and has also enjoyed coordinating with the Capitol Reef Field Station (operated by Utah Valley University) to help high school and university groups engage with the land through volunteer service.
Katie is very excited to continue to create a compliant and sustainable volunteer program at Capitol Reef and is grateful to have the opportunity to continue to work alongside a passionate and dedicated team.
In her personal life, Katie enjoys a weekend of camping, hiking, and traveling, and an evening of music and cross-stitching or crocheting. As a proud Ohioan, she also enjoys engaging her non-Ohio friends and coworkers in deep conversation about her love for Cincinnati style chili.
