Maria Wood

Stonewall National Monument

Fall 2024

Maria (she/her) has spent most of her life visiting different National Parks on her family's road trips between Wisconsin and the Mountain West. Now she is finishing a dual master's degree in Public History and Library and Information Science at St. John's University, and is excited to combine her love of history and National Parks through her service at Stonewall National Monument. She looks forward to creating new Volunteer opportunities and connecting New Yorkers and visitors more to the LGBTQ+ history of New York City and the United States. In her free time, you can often find Maria hiking, reading, or knitting as she explores new places. In fact, Maria has been to 26 different states, and lived in six of them!
