Raelyn Toya
Valles Caldera National Preserve
Fall 2024
Raelyn Toya is from Jemez Pueblo, New Mexico. She is currently in school to get her B.S. in Wildlife Conservation. She was in the healthcare industry for five years before deciding it was time for a change last spring. Since then, she has worked with a couple different conservation corps in Albuquerque, NM and Steamboat Springs, CO. Currently, she is serving as a Community Volunteer Ambassador at Valles Caldera National Preserve in Jemez Springs, NM. She hopes to learn more about the preserve and gain as much experience as she can with the National Park Service. A goal that Raelyn hopes to achieve is making the connections stronger between the preserve and the Indigenous people of Jemez Pueblo as well as the surrounding areas.
Raelyn enjoys being outdoors, going on hikes, visiting different National Parks and spending time with her dog, Bean!
