Val is a recent graduate with a degree in Historic Preservation (Archaeology) and Classics. They are a Polish American from Virginia. Before serving as a CVA, Val volunteered at Manassas National Battlefield Park to help conduct archaeological surveys and write an excavation memo and interpretive materials. They also have experience with artifact photography and museum exhibit construction from their time at university.

Their interests include international preservation and environmental conservation. Val hopes to engage the area's multicultural community, collaborate with local libraries and schools, and gain experience in natural resource management and community outreach.
